A borewell, also known as a borehole, is a deep, narrow well drilled into the ground to access underground water sources. It’s commonly used in areas where surface water is scarce or unreliable. Borewells are typically drilled using rotary or percussion drilling techniques, and they can vary in depth from a few dozen meters to several hundred meters, depending on the local geology and water table.
The water is usually extracted through a pump system, and borewells are often equipped with filters or screens to prevent sediment from entering the water supply. Proper maintenance and regular testing are important to ensure the water remains clean and the system operates efficiently. Work is under progress
